Frequently
Asked Questions |
| |
| "Are the prices per
person?" |
| Our prices include 2
passengers. It’s like the second person rides free. |
| |
| "When do you fly and
what are your hours?" |
| Our season begins mid
April and ends at the end of November. This may vary depending
on weather. We fly 7 days a week, however Saturdays and
Sundays are the busiest, We do take reservations during the
week and try to keep them in the evening after about 5:00 PM.
We will fly daytime tours during the week if that is your
preference. |
| |
| "Are there any age
restrictions?" |
| We’ve had passengers
from age 2 to 90. If your shorter than 5’0 we have a cushion
for you to sit on so that you can see better. If your shorter
that 3’0 we will have you sit on 2 or even 3 cushions. |
| |
| What are the size
and weight restrictions for passengers? |
| We can carry a combined
passenger weight of 450 lbs. |
| |
| What forms of
payment do you take? |
We accept checks, Visa,
Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
We also take cash with proper identification. |
| |
| How safe is it? |
| Frankly your drive to
and from the airport will be more dangerous. The aircraft is a
modern version of the original1935 WacoYMF and built
incorporating the latest in aircraft design technology. The
aircraft is maintained in a manner that far exceeds the FAA
required annual and 100 hour inspections. Each pilot of this
plane has over 30 accident free years of professional flying
experience. Each flight is conducted while in continuous radio
communication and radar control with the tower at Louisville
International Airport. But we still have time to talk to you
too!!! And if it matters to you, the FAA says we have to have
a mandatory drug testing program which we faithfully comply
with. Yuk!!! |
| |
| What should I wear? |
| Anything you want. On
hot days we recommend that you dress cool, such as shorts and
t-shirt. The passenger cockpit is warm so you won’t need a
jacket unless the outside temperature is 55 degrees or less.
Long dresses for the ladies is fine, but if your wearing high
heels, you may have a little difficulty climbing into the
plane |
| |
| Can I take a camera? |
| Absolutely, and don’t
forget to bring it. The only precaution is that you should use
the wrist strap if equipped and not let the camera extend
outside of the cockpit. Otherwise someone on the ground may be
taking pictures of you with your camera. |
| |
| What if the weather
is bad? |
| We will simply
reschedule your flight. Sometime the same day or another day
when it’s convenient for you. |
| |
| Do I need to make a
reservation. And how far in advance? |
| Reservations are highly
recommended, and required during the week. The weekend flights
typically will be sold out by Thursday preceeding the weekend,
so if you are particular about the time you want to fly it is
best to schedule a week or so before your flight. |
| |
| Do I need to arrive
early for my flight? |
| We would like for you
to arrive about 15 minutes early. Also we schedule an
additional 30 minutes to your flight time for you to take
photos, ask questions and for us to brief you before the
flight. The time spent on the ground before and after the
flight is part of the whole experience, and we don’t want to
rush you. So an early arrival will greatly assist us in
staying on schedule. |
| |
| Do you do
aerobatics? |
| Currently we do not do
aerobatics. Aerobatics requires that you wear parachutes and
then only one passenger can ride. Most folks like having
someone to ride with. If you are the adventurous type, we can
give you a thrill ride that you won’t be disappointed with,
but we won’t take you upside down. |
